Harry Somic first started working offshore in 1967 in Australia as a Barge Admin Clerk. He was employed by McDermott for a total of 30 years, working his way up to Jurong Base Manager in Singapore.
He moved back to Perth, Australia in 1998 and to consult for marine companies. He then joined Brunel in 2002 and established the offshore blue collar division in Australia and Singapore.
He retired from Brunel in 2009 and co-founded Kuiper Singapore in January 2010. Thereafter, Harry opened Kuiper Australia in 2012 and successfully grew both businesses until the acquisition by OCB (Nexus Group) in January 2016.
